Liskeard show was held on the 7th & 8th of March a good show which was well supported by the club with a lot of intrest in Alans Liberty ship & Rogers Grey Rover RFA. But the highlight of the weekend for one club member was being able to drive a miniture steam lorry owned by Mr Brian Luxford of the Liskeard Engineering Club. An enjoyable show for all.

Happy New Year to all our fellow model clubs and model boaters, we hope you have a great boating year in 2015 and we look forward to seeing you all at the various shows and meetings.

This year the club has had a busy one with our River Challenge in June and our Static Show in the Torpoint Community College in July, along with supporting a number of other shows and open days around Cornwalls model clubs. And taking advantage of the good weather we have had, our own Sunday club meets have been a success and we have gained a few new members along the way. Our total amount raised for the Cornwall Hospice over the year has been just short of £900 so thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We are now hauling our model boats out of the water for the winter to give them some well needed TLC and look forward to another good sailing season next year.

On Sunday the 1st of June WE ACHIEVIED OUR RIVER CHALLENGE.... We left St Germans Quay Sailing club at 0900 after a hearty feed of bacon butties and cups of tea, kindly supplied by the the sailing club for a small fee. Just as the tide was turning for the ebb we set off and made slow and steady progress down the river. By 1100 we were in the Tamar and could see the finnish line. At 1215 we were pulling into the Slipway at Cremyll. Once we have collected in the sponsership money we will let you know how much we have managed to raise for the Hospice.

Unfortunately due to the weather our display at Mt Edgcumbe smugglers day had to be canclled. But on a positive note the few of us that went to Helston For the Cambourne Pond Hoppers open day only got wet in the afternoon. Our charity model run is still on track for this weekend comming so watch out on the river for that one.

We are on track to do our river challange on the 1st of June the PDSSA have kindly offered to help out by providing the safetyboat cover. All that is need now is your support for a worthy cause, Oh and some very good weather. So why not come along to Mt Edgecumbe and have a nice cuppa and a sticky bun in the sun and look at some of the other models on display.

Due to a slight hickup our river challenge date has had to be changed from the 17th of May and will now be take place on the 1st of June with a spare day being the 15th of June.
Our next full club meeting will take place on Thursday the 1st of May in the Carbiel pub in Torpoint at 1900.

We will be holding our annual Static Model and Hobby show this year again. It will be held in the Torpoint Community College on Saturday the 12 of July all proceeds will be going to our charity. Be sure to come along and view the Exhibits.

On the 17 of May we are hoping to to have a charity fun raising event which will consist of running a number of model boats from St Germans sailing club to the Cremyll ferry slipway, a distance of around 8 miles down both the rivers Lyhner and Tamar. All funds raised will go to the Cornwall Hospice we hope you will be able to come along and support us in our quest. The event will be weather dependant so watch the website for details.

We now have a sailing course set out in the lake and as of the 1st of April will be holding sailing compitetions on Wednesday evenings and Sundays. Sailing will be for any class of yacht including IOM and Wee Nips or anything else with sails.
